EDUCATION

VEI offers technical education in Finnish, Swedish and English. The education concentrates on the areas of electrical engineering and energy technology with an emphasis on the principles of sustainable development and on the preparation to face the challenges of the changing markets. The training for international customers and technical support staff is arranged in conjunction with the laboratory of electrical engineering. In addition to this, tailored supplementary training is arranged for the local companies, when needed.

 

The MBA for the energy sector

The Vaasa Energy Business MBA is the University's MBA program focusing on energy business. The programme has been created to meet the specific requirements of professionals working in a variety of companies operating within the realm of the energy industry and its related industries.

The aim of the programme is to develop energy industry specific business knowledge and leadership skills and the programme is thus closely bonded with the value chain of energy business. Understanding the industry environment, and being equipped to make effective strategic decisions, means taking into consideration a wide range of points of view from across the energy industry, but also from other industries. This is the essential foundation on which the programme is built.

The Energy Business MBA is arranged in close cooperation with the Robert Gordon University's, Aberdeen Business School. Participants will also receive their MBA from the Robert Gordon University. The programme is accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA).

Wind Energy and Business

Wind Energy and Business is a course organized by Vaasan ammattikorkeakoulu (VAMK), University of Applied Sciences. The course is held in English and through Moodle (no traditional classroom teaching) twice a year (autumn/spring).  Virtual lectures can be taken within a week after they have been opened.  Applying is done through VAMK open UAS.
